Our story
A passion for milk for more than 80 years
- 1933: Creation of the Besnier Group by André Besnier
- 1962: Start of Bridel milk replacer production in Retiers (Ille et Vilaine)
- 1990 : Acquisition of Bridel by Besnier Group.. Creation of the Eurovo brands for milk replacers and the start of the veal calf activity
- 1999 : The Besnier Group became Lactalis Group
- 2008 : Foundation of a new Lactalis Feed entity and development of the international business

The REGUL’VO tool allows you to put together a personalised, optimised feeding programme for breeding calves, ideally combining milk replacers and concentrates for young calves.
This programme takes three factors into account:
1. The target age for first calving in association with a minimal growth target during the birth, weaning, and 0-6 month stages
2. The nutritional profile of concentrates for young calves (feed unit, bypass proteins)
3. The nutritional profile of the milk replacer (net energy and digestible nitrogenous matter)

A pioneering commitment to the organic sector for more than 25 years.
The Lactalis Group has been committed to organic farming for 25 years with over 45,000 hectares of converted land. It began by helping six partner farmers switch to organic farming, thus enabling the group to market its first bottle of organic skimmed milk in 1995. Since then, 500 farmers have benefited from such support and 107 are currently in the process of conversion.
Lactalis Group is the key player in the organic milk sector: From an initial volume of 1.8 million litres collected in 1995, it now represents 141 million litres of organic milk, collected from 500 farms.
However, the Group is seeking to continue its efforts to support the growth of organic production. The history of organic farming is a work in progress and the Lactalis Group is participating, seeking to ensure the renewal of generations of organic farmers, working for a better balance between collection and market requirements, encouraging discussion on improving production techniques and organic dairy product manufacture, and pursuing its investment in its organic transformation workshops.
